Room in the The Roof
Background/Product
Insulating the Sloping/Overhead area of a loft space to provide a ‘Warm Roof’ is one of the most effective ways to benefit from high levels of insulation, in an area where normal roof insulation access is not otherwise possible.
The Insulation is installed, using the specified manufacturer’s product, fixed into place, to the required thickness.
The material is supplied in varying thicknesses, dependent upon the material being used (30mm, 50mm, 60mm, 70mm, 75mm, 80mm, 85mm, 90mm, and 100mm). The products can be combined in two layers to meet the exacting requirements of the current Building Regulations (130mm, 150mm).
Examples of the products used, are Kingspan and Knauf Rafter Roll.
Application
The installation is carried out by our own fully-trained technicians, who provide a professional, reliable and effective service.
The material is fixed between the joists to sloping areas and is supported by a Visqueen material, which provides a Vapour Barrier to avoid the passage of damp. The material does not move once installed and air is allowed to flow freely, maintaining the necessary ventilation to the area.
After installation, the area is then plaster-boarded.
